Inspired by the philosophy of the Reggio Emillia schools in Northern Italy, with Loris Malaguzzi as the main thinker, children use their senses to learn, know and assimilate.
It is a progressive education obviously influenced by Dewey, Freinet, Piaget, Montessori and an educational process in which, as he says, there is no specific pedagogical model, but new projects are designed every year by teachers and children with the free participation of the whole community. Each of them is based on the needs and curiosity of the children themselves.
The arts are an essential tool in the hands of children and educators, promoting the continuous development and cultivation of their emotional, motor, cognitive and social skills. Children are encouraged to process their environment through the many languages of expression offered by the arts, such as painting, drawing, puppetry, puppetry, drama, music and sculpture.
The environment is the 'third teacher' since children can understand the world through it, provided it is shaped with respect for their needs. They participate in the common life of the school and meet their daily needs without the intervention of an adult. In such an environment children learn individual responsibility, sharing, generosity and justice.
(in quotes) "School should be a place for all children and not based on the idea that all children are the same, but that they are all different." Loris Malaguzzi (in quotes)
